Artists Tables

The impetus for this project was born when the artist Isidro Blasco rediscovered the design of some 1950s tables produced by his father, Arcadio Blasco. It all started with the intention of raising funds for the Casa-Taller Arcadio Blasco by reproducing a series with its original design.

In the process, they discovered the potential hidden behind the design of these tables. That is when the first initiative of The Table Project was launched at the Naveporto studio in Madrid in 2020. This space became a meeting point for different artists, where each one reinterprets the original design and reproduces their own table.

In this first initiative, 21 tables were made with original Majolica tiles, fired at 1000ºC and glazed with Prodesco glazes. The structure supporting the table is metal, with different heights, adapting to each design.
